(Alan Griffiths, 6 July 2022) I'm indebted to Roger Watson for bringing this announcement to my attention.
(Roger Watson, 6 July 2022) The first notice in a French Newspaper in 1839. Le Drapeau Tricolore published this article on 2 January 1839. As this paper was from the Chalon region, I suspect that Isadore Niepce jumped the gun and published prior to the Parisian Papers.
