Other: Charles Chusseau-Flaviens
The first French press photography agency established at the end of the 19th century. The collection is very rich in images of European Royalty and military between 1900 and 1920. Although the collection is that of Charles Chusseau-Flaviens, about whom little is known, it appears that the images were taken by more than one photographer. Within the collections there are also copy negatives of work by other photographers including Bonfils.
There are large collections of 11,000 glass negatives held by the George Eastman House (USA), 4,500 images at the Musee Niepce (France) and 22 autochromes at the musée d’Orsay (France). 61 examples of this work were posted by George Eastman House on Flickr (Press release: July 28, 2008).
