| Alois Löcherer Breastpiece of Bavaria in the courtyard of the Royal Ore Foundry, Munich 1850 Salt print 27.9 x 25.6 cm Munchner Stadtmuseum Acquired in 1992, Inventory number: FM-92 / 19.2 LL/102632 Alois Löcherer was one of the early pioneers of photography in Germany, who had been working in photography since around 1845. His studio in Munich was one of the first in the city. In addition to numerous portraits from the period, his photographs of the cast and assembly of the Bavaria statue have been preserved.
