The building on the left is part of the Biblioteca. The column of San Todaro is partially hidden, however the column of the Lion of Saint Mark is in full view on the Piazzetta in front of the Doge's Palace. The bridge of the Ponte della Paglia, and the Prison are beyond. To the extreme right water is visible, and ends of gondolas tied up against the quayside.
