Photograph of soldiers from the Royal Artillery who served in the Anglo-Egyptian War. They are standing in a row in front of a large mounted gun which is facing left. They are wearing military uniform and most are holding a sword. There is a dog called Jack sitting at the front of the group with his head turned to the right. There is a house with a veranda behind. The Anglo-Egyptian War of 1882 repressed the nationalist ‘Urabi Revolt and led to increased British control of Egypt. This photograph was taken in Cairo.
