Introduction to 19th Century photograph types 
  

This exhibition will expand to provide a series of examples of the different photographic types commonly used in the 19th century. It currently includes:
  • Daguerreotypes (including stereo, painted and jewelry)
  • Ambrotypes (including hand-painted)
  • Calotypes (including tinted)
  • Carte de visite (Including uncut sheets, backs, tinted)
  • Cabinet cards (Including tinted, stereo, advertizing, backs)
  • Tintype (including Neff, painted)
  • Albumen prints (including mammoth, tinted)
  • Cyanotype
  • Woodburytype
  • Photogravure
We welcome other examples that highlight different types.
