He bought W.F. Howland‘s studio in Hawaii (1858) and ran it as "King‘s Ambrotype Rooms". He moved in 1862 to Hugo Stangenwald‘s old studio, (later Bindt‘s, then Durand‘s). In 1870 he was arrested and fined for obscene photos, disappeared from Hawaii.
