Amateur, India
‘A number of microscopic photographs, executed by Mrs Spottiswoode, were laid on the table for inspection, which were of great interest and exceedingly well executed. With the exception of a few sent by Dr Mantell to the exhibition these are the only ones in this branch of the art which have been brought before the society, and from their excellence and the variety of subjects they displayed, they gave promise of great and interesting results hereafter.’[1]
