Dutch painter and photographer. He established a studio in Amsterdam in 1851 and created one of the first Dutch Daguerreotype stereographic images. He took albumen stereographs and these were included in his publications most notably Views of Holland and Stereoscopic Views in the Netherlands. He also recorded events of the day including the unveiling of a monument in Amsterdam (1856) and the ascent of Nadar's balloon near toxt to the Paleis voor Volksvlijt (1865).
