scy., some animals/birds; B/Ls, most on CMs,
desc. on back, used very over-sized cards,
odd-shaped prints, and striking printing; made a
fine and unusual series "while on a round trip
on the steamer Golden Crown, from Cincinnati to
New Orleans ...1878", 200+ views, incl. several
on board ship, 60 of New Orleans, people, jazz
band, etc.; also sold views of other photogs.
"Views 35 cents/ea. or $3/doz."; offered
catalog. At Painesville first, Portsmouth
later; during boat journeys he occasionally
stopped off to photograph family groups,
residences, schools, etc.; how many boat trips
