Works about photography will be added and linked in so they appear on the pages of the related photographers, themes, timelines and techniques. Copies of Luminous-Lint newsletters are available for consultation in the library. The following exhibitions have been added since the last newsletter...- Although the hand-tinted albumen prints by Felice Beato, Baron Raimund von Stillfried and Adolfo Farsari from 19th century Japan are well known Japanese ambrotypes in their kiri wood cases have received less attention.
- Alexander Gardner - Ogallalla Sioux (May, 1872) shows a little known portfolio of the Native American delegation to Washington DC by Red Cloud from May 25 to June 3, 1872.
- British photography is shown in the 1970s work of Homer Sykes documenting traditional customs and by Roger Mayne on urban decline and street life in London and the industrial cities.
- The Estate of A. Aubrey Bodine has kindly provided an exhibition of the pictorialist photographer of Maryland - A. Aubrey Bodine.
- An exhibition by John Sevigny on the ladies who work as prostitutes and drinking companions in the bars of Guadalajara in Mexico.
- Finally the quiet interiors of Lynne Cohen prove to be gently disturbing.
There are many new and exciting parts of this project in preparation and upcoming newsletters will announce some of these so keep watching!
