*[Not clear which Smith may have been involved; no other refs. to the Becks] Early British firm; cat. exists dtd. 58 desc. their "achromatic stereoscope", a scarce double-box model. Also pub. wide selection of glass, tissue, and card views of Brit. Isles, Europe, Middle and Far East; 63 pub. rare views of ruins at Copan, Honduras by Osbert Salvin, in boxed sets of 24 and 48 views. These were pirated by "Dr. Fitzgibbon" of Philadelphia and pub. by Rehn & Sons of that city.
