Stereographs project Business locations Taunton, MA, US [6-7] [William Finley Woodward, son was James A.
Woodward] "Photographers"; "Groups & Individual
Portraits"; issued scarce loc. scy.,
campgrounds, fishing, President Grant at
Martha's Vineyard. There was some tie between
Woodward & Son and A.C. Brownell since SCMs of
Martha's Vineyard scy. exist with both studios
credited. Views found rarely on yellow SCMs,
more commonly on yellow or buff RMs. View
exists showing outside of studio with small
crowd on sidewalk. Reported that W.F. Woodward
started as apprentice in Brownell's Boston
studio in 65 after civil war service but this
not firmly documented. Also issued SI formats,
primarily CDVs, which are more common than
stereos. Listed in Taunton 69-76. T.K. Treadwell & William C. Darrah (Compiled by), Wolfgang, Sell (Updated by), 11/28/2003, Photographers of the United States of America, (National Stereoscopic Association) |
