Active:  Mexico / France
French master of photography at the Saint Cyr Military Academy. Active in Mexico (1875-1910) and In 1876 he was commissioned to photograph the construction of the railway line between Veracruz and Mexico City. Most of his work after that took place in Mexico with his studies on the port of Veracruz in 1880 for the French steamship company ‘La Compagnie Maritime Transatlantique‘. He also prepared a series of commemorative albums ‘Vistas Mexicanas‘ between 1880 to 1895. Considered to be one of Mexico's first commercial photographers.

*[Alfred Briquet] Rare early views of Paris reported, seem to date from late 50s/early 60s; address 13 Rue St-Andre; later in Mexico, issued 200 "Vistas Mexicanas", generally fine views, mostly central/northern areas; Mexico City, Amecameca, Aguas Calientes, San Augustin; on RMs or SCMs; best & most prolific of resident photogs.
