| Dates: | 1901 - 1963 | Born: | Ottoman Empire, Erzurum | Active: | Egypt | Born under the Ottoman Empire in Erzurum he moved with his father to Alexandria in Egypt in 1907. After working with a number of photographers he established his own "Armand studio" at Midan Mustafa Kamel in Cairo in 1930 and in 1956 he set up another studio at Talaat Harb street. Although he undertook some other work he was primarily a portrait photographer recording politicians, the royal family and celebrities.
