Marshall, photographer on the cadastral establishment, broke down in health in May 1889, when he was obliged to take furlough to Europe on medical certificate. As he attained the age of 55 on the 21st of July 1889, he retired from that date on a superannuation pension, after good service in the office of 13 years.’[1]
