John Falconer, British Library A Biographical Dictionary of 19th Century Photographers in South and South-East Asia | Amateur, India
Exhibited at the Simla Fine Arts Exhibition 1899: ‘The exhibits of Captain T. T. Pitman … have been Highly Commended. The Kashmir snow scenes are specially good, and the green-grey tones of the carbon prints are eminently suitable to the subjects. One picture, a sepia print, representing a native at the bow of a river craft, punting, is ambitious, but wants the accessories which go to make up a good composition of this kind’ (Journal of the Photographic Society of India, vol. XII, no. 9, September 1899, p. 161).
