recorded the area's history with his camera;
assembled a collection of more than 14,000
historic photos, finest collection of southern
CA photographs. B. Chicago, IL 53; came to Los
Angeles, 86; first mention of him appears in
business directories when he was located at 532
Downey Ave., in partnership with Albert W. John.
In 90 he joined J.P. Blanchard at the Plaza
Gallery; after a short time he left and joined
A.E. McConnell conducting a commercial
photography business known as the Tourist View
Depot; according to the local directory he had a
studio at 513 North Main St. in 96. By 00 he
had his gallery at 313 South Spring St.; after
his business prospered, he moved to 1572 West
