Stereographs project Business locations Westerly, RI, US Mystic, CT, US [Everett A. Scholfield] "Photographer"; some views stamped Scholfield Bros., which indicates
that his brother Addison A. Scholfield was also
a stereographer; "Views of Mystic & Vicinity",
all of these views that I have been able to
identify were taken by one or the other of these
two men between 67 and 84. Certain that this is
Edwin A. Scholfield's father, whose background
in photog. reached into the daguerrean era.
Most of the surviving Westerly views were taken
in the 60s-70s when Everett was away during the
Civil War or established in a studio elsewhere,
primarily in Mystic. His first year in Mystic
was 65. A third brother, Edwin D. Scholfield
was also a photog. but no views have been ident.
that can positively be attributed to him. T.K. Treadwell & William C. Darrah (Compiled by), Wolfgang, Sell (Updated by), 11/28/2003, Photographers of the United States of America, (National Stereoscopic Association) |
