Artist statement:

"Creative insight for me is the way in which an artist looks or sees the world around them. It is internalized emotionally and passionately, and then expressed outwardly through his or her artistic medium. It’s deep within the soul that creativity lives, a reflection of your inner being. When creative insight or vision is internalized, it becomes a force. A force that is driven by thoughts and emotions close to the heart. It is the creative artist who can bring this vision to the surface and express it in their work in such a matter that others can relate to in accordance with their own experiences. It is when these universal forces are shared, that it brings us all together as one and makes the creative vision a reality.

As an image maker, my bromoil images are pictorial. They are taken all over the world yet convey similar themes and ideas. My images tend to be on the “dark “side. To me, there is always an undercurrent of life and death. The “etching”like qualities of a bromoil enhance and capture the mood and feeling of each particular image. My strongest images occur when I have no preconceived ideas of what an image will be but let my inner senses take over. The end result is the emotional impact of a particular image that I want the viewer to feel. Thank you....Eliza"
