Frenchman who brought the daguerreotype to America in 1839. Both Albert Sands Southworth, Hosiah Johnson Hawes and William Hickling Prescott all attended his lectures on daguerreotypy in Boston in 1840. He sold daguerreotype equipment to both Samuel Bemis and Samuel Morse.
 
In 2014 Rob McElroy announced the discovery of two of his plates. (Yahoo, Photohistory List,20 April 2014)
