Photographs by Oertel are reproduced in George W. Bird, Wanderings in Burma (Bournemouth, 1897). 41 albumen prints by Oertel are pasted into his Notes on a tour in Burma in March and April 1892 (Rangoon, 1893). Also author of Indian architecture and its suitability for modern requirements (1913, reprinted from the Asiatic Quarterly Review); Inspection notes on some multiple filter installations, Puech-Chabal system (London, 1913).
