Firm of George Dawson and Co., merchants, agents, and timber merchants, Bassein, Moulmein and Rangoon. Put up for President of the about-to-be-formed Moulmein Photographic Society in Janury 1856 and credited with being ‘the first to introduce the art [of photography] into this place [Moulmein], and had a practical acquaintance with all its branches’.[1] No further information on the activities of the Moulmein Photographic Society (indeed, whether it was ever established) has so far come to light.
