He arrived in Great Britain from Italy in 1830 and worked as a manufacturer and salesman of scientific and optical instruments. After establishing a partnership with Joseph Zambra they gained a reputation for high quality workmanship and supplied the Royal Observatory, the British Admiralty and Prince Albert. In 1853 the partners became the official photographers to the Crystal Palace Company when the building was re-erected.
On the Getty (ULAN) website it also says that Henry Negretti took the first aerial photographs of London from a balloon in 1863.Preparing biographies
