Dates: | 1826, 7 July - 1911, 1 February | Born: | England, London, Kensington | A British wood-engraver and photographer, She was the Official Museum Photographer at South Kensington Museum from 1868 until 1891 and she may well have been the first offical woman museum photographer in the world. Her brother, Charles Thurston Thompson, had been the South Kensington Museum's first Official Museum Photographer but he died in 1868 and she took over the role soon after. She was paid based on the square inch of glass negative she made and employed as a contractor.Preparing biographies
