John Falconer, British Library A Biographical Dictionary of 19th Century Photographers in South and South-East Asia | Commercial, India
Photographer at Simla from c. 1862-90, with additional business interests in banking, building and printing. He appears to have lived in retirement in Simla until about 1890, from which time he is listed as ‘house owner’ rather than photographer. Married Mary Emma Murphy, daughter of Charles Murphy, at Simla 19 Jun 1862.[1]
Photographed the durbar at Ambala in 1869 and argued with government about payment due . [2]
