Preparing biographies Born in Dublin, Nelson, a doctor, practiced in Norfolk before moving to London in the 1850s. His only known surviving photograph is a calotype negative of a village, possibly in the Norfolk area. One of his sons was Edward Milles Nelson (1851-1938), an eminent microscopist.
