Washington St., Boston; 528 Broadway, Seattle.
Listed in Boston 59-65 as photog.; later as pub.
Major stereo photog. & pub., 1,400+ views, took
early ones himself, primarily northeast & genre,
city & rural scenics, Boston Fire 72, Portland,
ME Fire 66; many of later series pub. were from
purchased negs. such as Niagara Falls by George
Curtiss, SC by Barnard, CA series, #1066-1325 by
Hazeltine, etc.; war views prob. purchased from
James W. Campbell; "Skeleton Leaves"; several
cats. & B/Ls; also made much rarer SI formats.
Moved to Seattle, WA ~82, made scarce SI photos
there, #s known to 132, some CR 93, Indians,
scy., logging. Older brother of W.S. Soule &
brother-in-law of Horatio G. Smith, Boston
photog. Sold stereo negs. to B.W. Kilburn of NH
~78, rest of business ~83 to Soule Photograph
Co., "successor to John P. Soule", operated by
brother William S. Soule & William B. Everett,
which produced lantern slides, broad coverage,
#s to 5,000, no stereos seen. B. 28, Phillips,
ME; D. Seattle, WA 08. SEE NSA monograph on
