[7-8] *[Loudolph Hensel] "Photographed and
Published by..."; prolific & generally excellent
regional worker; issued several series: "A Ride
over the Penna. Coal Co.'s Gravity Road into The
Coal Regions", "Stereoscopic Views of Honesdale,
Penna."; "Beautiful Scenery of Pike Co., Pa.";
"Views of Hawley, Wayne Co."; "Views of
Carbondale", etc.; several series along
railroads in the area. Dozens of B/Ls, #s run
to 2056 but actual production probably less,
~1,400, mainly PA. Made some NY scy. when at
Port Jervis, but only NYC view seen is from his
very rare "Views of New York City" series on
orange/pink CMs, likely issued quite late; had
B/L of 8 views, mostly of bridges, some city
bldgs. Varied coverage, mostly city/rural
scenics, mining and farm activities, fishing,
etc., $2.00/dozen. Also made SI formats ranging
from CDVs to cabinets, studio portraits, some
images printed as postcards from stereo halves.
Seems to have been most active in stereo from
early 70s into 80s. B. NYC 1/29/49, to Port
Jervis 66, listed as photog. 72-78; to Hawley
78, active until his D. in 27. Expert & major
collection of views, Mr. Dave Wood.
