‘Some very excellent calotypes were also exhibitd by Lieut. Hill of Dum-Dum. These views were clear and distinct, and almost equal to collodion pictures. Lieut. Hill observed that his process was simple, and that he purposed publishing a paper on the subject for the first number of the Society’s Journal.’[1]
