Supplemental information

Luca Gilli

Luca Gilli lives and works in Cavriago in the province of Reggio Emilia. He has a degree in Natural Sciences and has worked for a number of years as a photographer and as a wildlife-environmental consultant for nature parks, schools, and universities. In 1998 he opened his own graphic design studio and publishing house.
His photographic research has always been centered on Nature. His work has been exhibited in numerous one-man and collective shows in Italy and abroad, and published in well-known Italian magazines. His friendship with Vasco Ascolini and an ongoing exchange with other photographers and critics both in Italy and abroad have provided important stimuli to his photographic research.
In November 2004 he was invited to present a summary of his photographic research at the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris during an evening event entitled "The Photography School of Reggio Emilia" organized by Gens d'images. In November 2005 he was invited by the association ECUME (Echanges Culturel en Méditerranée) of Marseilles to take part in the atelier de création photographique sur la ville as part of the Festival Méditerranéen d'Alexandrie: photo, musiques, cinéma. The works from the atelier were exhibited at the Mahmoud Saïd Museum in Alexandria, Egypt.
