John Falconer, British Library A Biographical Dictionary of 19th Century Photographers in South and South-East Asia | Amateur, India
Exhibited photographs at the Bengal Photographic Society Exhibition of 1869:
Mr Kirby of Dhurmsala exhibits some very nice little views in the neighbourhood of Kangra and Dhurmsala, but we are such to see such excellent pictures spoilt by the yellow stains caused by imperfect washing. No. 568, ‘The Golden Temple, Kangra,’ is a perfect gem, and looks more like a copy of a highly-finished steel engraving, than a photograph from nature. These pictures are highly mentioned.[1]
