John Falconer, British Library A Biographical Dictionary of 19th Century Photographers in South and South-East Asia | Commercial, Burma
The partnership of Criouleansky and Marshall, Photographers, Mandalay, is listed for the years 1909-10 only, although a print signed by them which can be dated to 1901 suggests the partnership was of longer and earlier duration. Marshall is listed as a photographer Lashio Road, Mandalay in his own right from 1911-23, with W.C. Marshall acting as assistant in the early period. His prints are often signed ‘R.W. Marshall, Maymyo.’ Some of his photographs are reissued copies of earlier Beato images and he also sold views of the construction of the Gokteik Viaduct, 1899-1900, which were presumably the work of the construction engineers rather then himself.
