Stereographs project Business locations Newtown, NY, US [6-8] "Publisher"; "From ...'s Illuminated
Lectures". Gave lectures with lantern slides
made from stereo halves; pub. a book of
geography and history which was accompanied by
one or more boxes of his views; also sold at
least several dozen sets of views. Claimed to
have been a member of the photographic corps of
the U.P.R.R., and implied that he had taken the
pictures. Examples are: "Union Pacific R.R.
Stereoscopic Views Across the Continent, West
from Omaha"; "Across the Continent"; "Date Creek
& Laramie Series"; "New York City Series,
Yachting in the Bay"; "Rocky Mountain
Scenery-California Series"; "The Sunny
Southland"; "China and the Chinese". Most views
seen are U.S., 2 seen of "Central America" and
single one of Quebec City, Canada. Total views
offered probably around 600, all seen have been
pirated copies. Examples of views scarce [15];
half-dozen lantern slides seen; one copy of his
book known to exist (Treadwell Collection).
