'Assistant Engineer of the Railway Co.’
His railway views were shown at the meeting of the Photographic Society of Bengal of 26 Nov 1856,
‘...a series of seven views taken on the line of the railway chiefly near the heavy cuttings and tunnellings in the neighbourhood of Monghyr...admirably descriptive of the works and scenes they represented. They offered the most accurate possible picture of the nature of the soil and massive rock through which these cuttings are being carried, as well as every part of the engineering macinery and appliances made use of in the prosecution of the work...[They] gave a more accurate and comprehensible report at a glance, than any in words, however elaborate, could convey to those at a distance from the spot.’[1]
