In 1894 Pope advertised for a photographer in the Journal of the Photographic Society of India:
‘WANTED.— A competent man to travel and take photographs. Salary, 50 Rs. Per month. All travelling and other expenses paid, and photographic outfit supplied.’[1]
When this was an official of personal advertisement is unstated.
