About the Author 
  
Stephen Barber's publications include Artaud: The Screaming Body and Caligula: Divine Carnage (Creation Books). The leading English-language expert on Artaud, he has received awards from the Berlin DAAD programme, the Japan Foundation and the Leverhulme Trust. He has taught at Sussex Uni and the Uni of Tokyo, and currently divides his time between England, Tokyo and Paris.
