Book Description
This catalog features the photography of Samuel Fosso and accompanies the first monograph exhibit devoted entirely to his work. Rising from the ranks of a portrait photographer in the 1970s, Fosso has gained recent recognition in traveling photograph exhibits, and his work has been published in Contemporary African Art, Frieze Magazine, and Guardian. Distinctive, reflective, and ironic, Fosso's photographs incorporate a "fantasy space" familiar to African artists and experiment with images of the human body. |
