Colonel William Henry Mason (1830, 23 April - 1910, 1 July) was born - England, Epsom.  
  
Lee Miller (1907, 23 April - 1977, 21 July) was born - US, NY, Poughkeepsie. American model, writer and photographer. She was deeply involved in the surrealist movement and was a lover of Man Ray and a friend of Picasso. She traveled widely in the Middle East and became a war correspondent in the Second World War.

Michel Szulc-Krzyzanowski (1949, 23 April - ) was born - The Netherlands, Oosterhout. He experiments with sequences of shots to reflect on space and time. He has also done shots (1974) of people at work and at home. 
  
William P. Gottlieb (1917, 28 January - 2006, 23 April) died - US, NY, Great Neck. American jazz writer who, for the ten-year period of 1938-1948, also photographed the musicians of the "Golden Age". His portraits of the era‘s performers became so iconic that a number appeared on a series of U.S. stamps in 1994.

Willoughby Wallace Hooper (1837, 4 February - 1912, 23 April) died - England, Devon, Kilmington. Colonel in the 7th Madras Cavalry in 1858 and a keen amateur photographer, Hooper was seconded from his military duties in order to photograph a series of ethnographical images in the Central Provinces of India.
