Beginning his career at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts, Ivan Alekseevich Vladimirov became a combat artist and reporter during the Russian-Japanese War, the Balkan War, Russian Revolution and World War I. Vladimirov was a member of the Academy of Arts of the Russian Republic and best known for his battle scenes and depicting the revolutions in Russia.
