the first of the new tulip series, the last color bromoil before the fire….. this image was printed as a demonstration of the bromoil process for the International Society of Bromoilists meeting in 2001. It is a lot new, and a lot old… the image is from a digital device with conversion to film negatives done by printing onto translucent film (much like paper negs). The resulting negatives were then contact printed onto Bromoprint and bleached, inked and transferred like any other bromoil transfer. I used the old Swedish clothes mangle for the transfer press and my old favorite Lanaquarell watercolor paper as the final receiver… makes me anxious to get back to work…
