Daguerreotype, 1/6 plate Archives of Modern Conflict OR National Gallery of Canada A group of six plasterers wearing work clothes covered with the stains of their labors, posing with the tools of their trade. This image was taken in a studio setting. The man in the upper left has a hod on his shoulder while the others hold various hawks and floats. Note the cigar in the mouth of the young man seated in lower right of daguerreotype. (Matt Isenburg)
