(Bálint Flesch, 20 October 2021) Károly Kornis (1822 - 1862) lawyer and István Birányi linguist (circa 1815 - 1856) emigrated after the defeated Hungarian War of Independence in 1848 (as a former participant) and tried to live in different countries and then went to Brady's workshop where they learned to take photos. They befriended a Portuguese fellow student who influenced them to go to Brazil, and they opened in Rio de Janeiro a photography studio at 1850's.
