Photograph of Mount Everest with the Kharta Valley in the foreground. In the right corner of the foreground is a rocky plateau. In the background, snow is being blown from Everest's peak.
 
Whilst the rest of the party were assembled at the 20,000ft camp at the upper Kharta Glacier, Wollaston photographed Everest showing the Kangshung face from this vantage point between the end of August and late September.
