Mounted to cardboard with the title handwritten recto in colored ink. The goat pictures was no doubt a shipboard mascot. The frigate HMS Constance was launched at Pembroke Dock in March 1846 and broken up in. She set sail in 1846 on her first and only voyage as a pure sailing ship, for three and a half years in the Pacific. The ship's main activity was gathering silver, gold and other specie from merchants in Mexico during the period of the Mexican-American war in 1847. Edmund Heathcote -- later Admiral Heathcote -- was the senior lieutenant of the ship.
