Studio portrait of Cayuse Indian, wearing red wool shirt decorated with buttons jacket, decorated straw hat, jewelry and munitions belt. Identified as Cutmouth John, who acted as a scout after the Whitman massacre. A scalp hanging from his tomahawk haft is identified as that of Chief Egan.
