This rare image is one of the earliest known panoramic views of Vladivostok looking east with the Golden Horn Bay. Below the central hill to the left one can see the early small wooden church which was later replaced by the larger Vladivostok Dormition cathedral (completed in the 1890s). At the time this image was taken, the actual town consisted of a small number of log houses. A larger structure to the left has an unidentified flag, indicating that it is an official building and probably the town hall.
