Artillery waggons, view looking towards Balaklava

Salted paper print
25.1 x 34.3 cm (image)

Photograph of a military camp, looking towards Balaklava. In the foreground there is a row of wooden artillery waggons with horses grazing near them. There is a camp behind with wooden huts and tents, and more tents can be seen in the distance. The troops engaged in the Siege of Sevastopol camped in the surrounding countryside, with ammunition and supplies brought to them from Balaklava by a purpose built railway track.
