Signed and dated, verso. Charles Gatewood has been a photojournalist for Signed and dated, verso. most of his 45-year career. He is the self-proclaimed "family photographer of America's erotic underground" and is best known for documenting the sexual underground and helping launch the Modern Primitives movement into popular consciousness. From 1966-1975, he worked on assignment for Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Harper's, Time, and other national publications. His subjects were often rock and roll artists of the day -- including Bob Dylan, Rod Stewart, Carlos Santana, Boz Scaggs, Al Green and others -- as well as literary figures such as William S. Burroughs and Allen Ginsberg.
