Curatorial description (accessed: 17 August 2015):

This photograph is one of 40 views of the river Thames, taken by Victor Albert Prout on his journey by boat from London to Oxford. They are part of a portfolio titled The Thames London to Oxford, published by Virtue and Company, London, in 1862. The portfolio includes two indexes listing the title of each photograph. Some of the photographs show the house boat on which he traveled, which he had converted into a darkroom.
